Meet the Columnists

Every piece anchors to one of three threads
The builders, firms, and moments that made this ecosystem.
The founders, funders, and operators doing the work right now.
The next generation, the spinouts, and what's coming next.
Each columnist keeps their voice, byline, and audience. Every profile pairs their upcoming NEVYs Column piece with past work in the same spirit of New England innovation.

Content Creator & Analyst, FoundersEdge
Hi, I'm Bella! I love everything startups and helping founders become great storytellers. My story starts at 13: I taught myself ASL after my sister lost her hearing and started posting my journey on TikTok. It grew to 100K+ followers, and suddenly I was getting brand deals, podcast invites, and opportunities I never planned for. That taught me early about building an audience: when your message is clear, the right people and opportunities find you. Becoming a creator led me to the world of startups, advising founders on social media, personal branding, and building in public! I've also been CEO of Northeastern's venture accelerator (IDEA), where I worked with 500+ founders, gave out $100K+ in grants, and started Boston's largest intercollegiate pitch competition, Pitch-A-Thon. Currently, I write about building in public and personal branding for founders while being an Analyst @ FoundersEdge, a pre-seed VC firm based in Boston.

Founder & CEO, Startup Boston
I'm absolutely obsessed with the startup community. As the Founder and CEO of Startup Boston, my mission is to make it easier for founders, startup operators, and startup-curious individuals to navigate and thrive in the New England startup ecosystem. Startup Boston serves as the go-to platform for staying informed, finding opportunities, and making meaningful connections — across industries, departments, and company stages. I started Startup Boston in 2016 after realizing, as a first-time tech co-founder, that I had no idea where to turn for support. In 2017, with just a $300 marketing budget, I launched the first-ever Startup Boston Week — bringing together 2,500 attendees, 125 speakers, and 52 events, featuring leaders like Brian Halligan (HubSpot), Jules Pieri (The Grommet), Paul Liberman (DraftKings), and Raj Aggarwal (Localytics). From that initial event, Startup Boston grew into what it is today.
